The spread of COVID-19 is a rapidly developing situation which has brought about numerous humanitarian challenges. This results in organizations having to retrofit their offices to create a safe working environment and accommodate the unprecedented shift in workplace dynamic.
The CDC, WHO, OSHA, ASHRAE, and others have developed administrative and behavioral resources enumerating steps that can be taken, inside and outside the built environment, to help prevent the spread of disease and measures for reoccupying office buildings. The future holds workspaces that are responsive, flexible, resilient, and more importantly people-centered.
This paper studies the overall effect of re-utilizing the workplace as per post-COVID-19 norms about altered energy and power consumption along with the cost that goes into catering to the new normal.
